Confirm release permission, readiness and cold transport for every order before arranging a combined pickup. Keep each owner’s meat, labels and paperwork identifiable through the trip and final handoff.

Underground Processing accepts shared animals with separate cutting instructions and invoices. Freezing is available on request; confirm chilled or frozen status for each order with Underground Processing.

Confirm the owners and orders

Make a list using the order names and references the office recognizes. Check that each order is ready and that any payment or release arrangements have been settled with the appropriate person.

Resolve differences before loading. An approximate name or a message saying “get mine too” may not provide enough information to identify and release an order correctly.

Plan transport for the total load

For poultry, collect by the agreed pickup time. Storage charges begin after three calendar days from the invoice; do not use that interval to extend an agreed pickup time. Estimate the space needed for all confirmed orders and arrange suitable cold transport. Identify the route and delivery sequence before pickup so the meat does not wait through an improvised series of stops.

Follow the products’ storage directions and keep the plan appropriate to the conditions. The driver should have enough suitable containers and a way to keep orders separated without discarding labels.

Match containers and paperwork at each handoff

Compare the identified packages or containers with the order information before leaving. Ask the office about any discrepancy while the order is still there to review.

At delivery, keep each owner’s labels and paperwork with that owner’s product. Record who received the order and when, particularly when one person is coordinating for several households.

Keep pickup separate from ownership and sales

Transporting an order for someone else does not change who owns the product or what uses are allowed. For custom-exempt livestock meat, the private-use limits still apply. Underground Processing's custom-exempt guide.

Before the driver leaves, verify the order list, release arrangements, pickup times, cold-storage capacity and delivery sequence. Record the recipient and handoff time for each order.
